Daniel Kazhdan
Counsel
Dr. Daniel Kazhdan brings extensive experience from both government and private practice. He served for five years in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Most recently, he was an Administrative Patent Judge on the Patent Trial and Appeal Board deciding both AIA decisions and appeals of examiner decisions. Before that, he was an Associate Solicitor, defending USPTO decisions in both district court and at the Federal Circuit. During his tenure at the USPTO, Dani also went on detail as counsel for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. He was recognized for his work at the USPTO with a Department of Commerce Gold Medal and a Special Act Award.
Before joining the USPTO, Dani was a litigator at Jones Day and Knobbe Martens, where he handled complex intellectual property disputes across a wide range of technologies, including pharmaceuticals, light sensors, and glucose monitors both in district courts and before various federal appellate courts. Dani also had the honor of clerking for the Honorable Richard Linn of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
